The Hillyer House

The Hillyer House in Ocean Springs

This past weekend some girlfriends and I went to Pass Christian for a "reunion" of sorts.  I will blog more about our weekend later.  We took a little side trip to Ocean Springs to visit the Hillyer House. The Hillyer House is a nationally recognized award-winning gallery that has been featured in Southern Living and Southern Breeze magazines.  I wanted to share the pictures (of course I took too many)!

Owner Paige Riley collects exceptional works of art from over 400 local, regional, and national American artists.

Oil lamps, bowls, wine glasses, lamps and vases are hand-blown in radiant colors that captivated our senses.

Creative potters dazzled the gallery with magnificent glazes in an array of colors, shapes, dimensions and versatility.  Coastal-themed baking dishes and serving rays were available and great for any occasion.

There was an exciting collection of original watercolors, oils, and mixed media.  Artists' creations included bronze sea life, pottery shore bird sculptures, and enameled and copper fish wall hangings.

The displays were so colorful and arranged so artfully that I couldn't stop taking pictures!

Beautiful hand-crafted art jewelry was presented by jewelers from coast to coast with designs in sterling silver, dichronic glass, natural gemstones, porcelain, pewter and lamp work glass.

The Oyster Trees were some of my favorite things!
