Pets on the Tree

Christmas Pets

Officially, the first grandpup we had was son's Jack Russell terrier, Petey.  Next came grandpups, Libby and Erasmus, son's pugs.  They were so cute!

This is lovable granddog Charlie in his new sweater
and his ornament!

Ornament for grandcat Bubby, who was found by daughter in the snow as a kitten in Taos, New Mexico.
(Don't have ornaments yet for other two grandcats Fuzz and Purcy)

Former granddog Jade

Our own sweet Piper, who was born in Fort Collins, CO, and transported back to us by daughter when she interned in Denver one summer.  Somehow, he never made it past our house!  He's still ruling the roost around here!
Our love affair with cats began with neighbor's cat Nat.  We thought Nat was a boy until we discovered three kittens in son's closet!  Baby daughter was captivated and named them all.  We kept Chicky!
From there we went on to Siamese Pooh.  Then daughter got kitten Champagne for Christmas.  This is her pointillism drawing of Champagne she did in high school.  Pooh and Champagne got pregnant at the same time and delivered kittens while we were gone.  We had prepared a box for them, so when we got home, there were both mamas with all the kittens.  We never knew which ones belonged to which mama!  One would carry them all upstairs to a closet, then the other one would bring them all back down to the box!  Made for a great story, too!  We ended up keeping one--Socks.
Friendly was a full grown cat who adopted us, Pooh, and Champagne.  When her owner moved, she gave her to us.  She was such an adorable addition to our family!  The three cats got along famously.
Then along came Lancelot!  He was a real character!  We got him when daughter was in high school, and he kept our empty nest company when she went off to college.
His favorite thing to do was climb the Christmas tree or just sleep under it!
In case you didn't know, dogs have owners, cats have staff!
